Step 1: Always carry out waxing or shaving at least 24 HOURS BEFORE you tan. If you really must shower right before you apply tan, douse yourself in the coldest water you can handle to ensure your pores are closed and tan isn't able to collect inside them (resulting in hundreds of tiny dots on your skin's surface). 

Step 2: EXFOLIATE THOROUGHLY before you start your application. This will ensure your skin will shed evenly and you will avoid a patchy looking tan. Use Unreal Sunless Tan Eraser to gently and thoroughly remove any leftover fake tan you might still have on the surface of your skin, without any harsh scrubbing (or bleach)! 

Step 3: Lightly moisturise any dry areas such as elbows, knees and feet etc - if you apply fake tan directly to areas of extremely dry skin, they may appear darker. DON'T use too much however, as this does create a barrier between your skin and the tan. 

Step 4: Now you're ready to apply your fake tanner. Always start from the bottom of your legs and work your way up your body. Use a tanning mitt and apply using circular motions to ensure a streak free application. Leave feet and hands until last.

Step 5: For the face try using a KABOOKI BRUSH instead of a tanning mitt. This gives a fabulous finish to the face, and you can work the tan into the more difficult areas like around the nose. Be sure to work into the face using circular motions - Unreal Personal Tanning Mist has it's own colour guide, so it's easy to see where you're applying and you have plenty of time to work it in. Be sure to work the product up into the hairline. If you have blonde or white coloured hair you will need to protect it by applying some vaseline to the hairline - use a cotton bud for this.

Step 6: Be careful not to over apply product to your hands and feet. For these areas we would recommend you apply lightly, using the remnants of the tan you have left on your mitt. In order to blend your tan on places like your wrists and ankles, we have a top tip. Use a PIECE OF KITCHEN ROLL and wipe downwards, away from the wrist and up into the middle of your arm a few times. This will ensure you don't end up with a harsh tan line between your wrist and palm. Do the same with your feet, blending upwards from the foot and ankle.
